Welcome to our store.

Hi, My name is Steven. Owner and creator of Heart and Home Hardware and Chunky Carpentry. The companies journey began back in 2015 when on a whim I decided to follow in my late grand fathers footsteps and start my own carpentry and house hold ironmongery company. My granddad was a bespoke carpenter and metal worker doing many amazing pieces for 50 years. With great inspiration and heritage I honestly felt a lot of weight on my shoulders to follow in his footsteps. Sadly we lost my granddad in 2008. But with the support and help from my wife and family I set about getting set up and making my first products.

Running my own business has been one of the most rewarding yet daunting nerve wracking experience of my life. But I would not change anything as it has been a life learning and self confidence growing experience that has taught me many lessons about carpentry / metal work as well as life in general.

One of the best experiences I have had is being featured in magazines and receiving feedback reviews from the public and in some cases celebrities. It is very humbling.

But nothing beats the potential to pass down what I have learnt along the way from my great grandfather to my young son and daughter. They love to come to the workshop after school and during weekends to potter around and boss me about... but i don't mind because it fills me with joy to know they ask questions about wood work and the metal work I make and are always quick to grab a tool and to try and make things for themselves. A very proud dad.

Our mission is to continually grow and inspire the younger generations of shoppers as well as looking after our loyal customers from around the world.
